Trek has pushed things into absurdly awesome again with the Boost 148 29s.
The Waterloo, Wisconsin-based company introduced the boost 148 last year, which allows the 29″ wheeled trail machines to fit the 27.5+ wheels and tires into the frame making for a dual-purpose trail bike and off-trail ripper with the fat-rubbered 27.5+ that serves little purpose other than just being kick-ass fun.
Think off-cambered hillsides covered in pine needles, wheelies over unnecessary logs, and turning small gulches into terrain parks without ever touching a shovel. Or just ride it on regular trails for increased stability and traction.
“One bike, two rides,” as I like to call the concept. Will it float on our new groomed singletrack snow?
